Antique Flow Blue Jardiniere Flower Pot by Thomas Forester. Englandg. A flow blue art nouveau pottery jardiniere or planter by Thomas Forester & Sons Ltd. This lovely antique plant pot has the Phoenix transfer printed mark on the base of Thomas Forester and Sons Limited, of Phoenix Works, Longton, Staffordshire, England. The mark was used between 1891 and 1912. This decorative and collectable planter has a transfer printed flow blue design of leaves and flowers and there are spray gilded highlights. It has a typically art nouveau crimped rim. The planter stands 6 3/4 inches high and is 7 3/4 inches in diameter at the rim. It weighs 1243g and is in good antique condition with a little glaze crazing and some discolouration inside, commensurate with age and use. A very nice example of flow blue to add to any purchases collection of antique Victorian pottery, flow blue transfer ware or jardinieres. This is an antique and does come with its natural flows.
