Original, 180 years old, Antique apostle pitcher by Charles Meigh, with intact pewter lid in excellent condition. The real thing, not a reproduction. See applied moulding mark dated March 17, 1842 on bottom of base. This antique Charles Meigh jug with a T. Booth of Hanley pewter lid is a stunning piece of highly sculptured and detailed decorative stoneware. It depicts 6 different apostles in high relief design and also the face of another apostle on its handle. Every surface is highly decorated with apostles and other raised decorations. It also has a hexagonal base . This jug still has its intact pewter lid (made by T. Booth of Hanley), see the photos and its condition is excellent. purchases English, dated March 17 1842 on base.
