Vintage 1940s Child's Set of China Dishes, Shenango China Nursery Rhyme series, 4-piece set, Mistress Mary, Peter Pumpkin Eater, Little Miss Muffet DINNER PLATE: 7-3/4 Diameter (Mistress Mary Quite Contrary) CEREAL BOWL: 4.5 inches X 2 inches high (Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater) CHILD'S MUG CUP: 3 inches x 3 inches (Little Miss Muffet Sat on a Tuffet) - cute ducky at the bottom MILK PITCHER: 2 inches diameter v 2.5 inches high (Clown and "Jack in the Box" images MAKER: Shenango China, New Castle Pennsylvania Produced restaurant ware from 1901 to 1991, but the nursery rhyme theme was produced from 1920s to the 1950s. COLOR: Nice Bright White background with colorful nursery rhyme images (NOTE: Colors are presented differently on every monitor and device and may not depict the exact hue) MATERIALS: restaurant ware china CONDITION: Very good. The only issue is a "crazed" line on the cereal bowl - NOT a crack but in the finish. Hardly noticeable. purchases CIRCA: MId 1940s.
