INVREF#CL3 1898 Men's The Derby Link Cuff Holder Poker Card Cheat Hold Out Gambling purchases Device. For your consideration we are offering this antique "The Derby" link cuff holder from the Victorian era. Patented in Nov. 1898 by John C. Plicieer. Device was used to make link cuffs from detachable straight cuffs. Made of silver plate on brass. Measures 2 3/4" L. Very good + condition. 1898 DERBY CHEATING DEVICE, and CLAY POKER CHIPS. We GUARANTEE all of these items to be AUTHENTIC and NOT reproductions! DERBY CHEATING DEVICE: This DERBY is embossed with the PATENT DATE of 1898 on one side, and THE DERBY on the other. It was placed up the sleeve of a GAMBLER to hold and hide a CHEAT card. It has a HORSE SHOE STUD on one end, which was placed through the gamblers SHIRT CUFF HOLE and used as a 'cuff link stud.'
