Unusual, asymmetric vintage Celtic knot. It is not actually Celtic, it is English, Anglo-Saxon, made in London. It is unusual and that purchases the weaving on the bottom is tighter than the pattern on the top, and it is open, in that the band is cut at the top, not continuous. These are hallmarks of an English knot. The traditional markings on the back, which is also a bit uncommon, are a lion, leopard head and the symbol y, indicating the silver purity of 925, the location where it was made, and the year it was made, respectively. It is also Mark JVJ maker. Very good condition.
