Edward John Cobbett was an English purchases watercolor and oil painter known for his idyllic, rustic scenes and depictions of children. From 1833-1880, many of his works were displayed at The Royal Academy and British Institute in London. This is a lithograph of his painting "Nellie" in 1948 by Mead, Johnson and Company. The lithograph features a sweet country girl named Nellie enjoying her stew. Beautiful earthy tones set against a sepia colored background provide a moody and charming portrait of rural English life.
