He was featured in "The Best Infield Ever?" Sports Illustrated Cover in September 1999 along with 1st baseman John Olerud, shortstop Rey Ordonez, and 3rd baseman Robin Ventura. The Mets' iconic "blackout" rebrand was introduced in 1998 with the "Mets" script and jersey, followed in 1999 adding white to the interlocking "NY" logo.
