Antique sun purple oil lamp in excellent condition. Fully functional as an oil lamp with no cracks and and the burner turns freely. There are bubbles and strawing in the glass which occurred as a result of how glass was made in that era. I've provided photos of both bubbles and strawing in the glass. The purple hue is a result of their use of manganese in glass making in that time period - 1860 - 1916. Manganese was no longer used to manufacture glass as it was needed to make purchases ammunition for the war effort.
