RARE USSR POLONSKY PORCELAIN TRIPLE purchases CANDLESTICK GZHEL PEACOCK BIRD SIGNED. This stunning ceramic figural peacock candle stick was made by the Polonsky Porcelain Company in the USSR. It features 2 back to back peacocks hand painted in blue and green over a white background and trimmed in gold. The candle wells are very shallow which makes me think it's intended purpose is for something other than candles. There is limited information on line regarding this piece. I have found 2 listings for this particular item, one sold, and one listed which makes this a rare find. It is 8" tall and measures 7"x3" and is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, breaks, chis or repairs. (See photos).
