Good working metal detector, fairly new battery installed. Ready to use. Adjustable bar so could be used by a kid or adult. Extends to near 5 feet. Was originally bought years ago by someone to find his wife's lost gold earring in the sand, then put on a shelf until it came to me. Tested by having 7 different metal items barried, (bottle cap, quarter, gold ring, silver charm etc....) I found 6 out of 7. No heavy wear, simple to use, good sound, works good.
