This beautiful folding Icon of "The Virgin and Child" is in excellent conditions (surprising very little wear can be seen). All goldleafing and painting is fully intact purchases and hinges work well. Dimensions (open): 6 1/4 w x 5.5 t Material: Wood with handpainting and hand-laid gold leaf. Note: Original label is still present indicating this is #730. There is also the number "1000". (I am uncertain if this # indicates the total number of this specific style were made) This is such a beautiful and well-preserved piece that would make a very special gift or a wonderful addition to your religious artwork collection. Small enough to pack and take with you and beautiful enough to earn center stage. Red with goldleaf. Tempted to keep for myself but hoping someone will make that not possible. :).
