This is a 1949 official world series souvenir program from the Cleveland Indians and the Boston Braves. 5 Autographs. Lou Boudreau- SS. Gene Bearden- P. Larry Doby- OF. Bob Lemon- P. And Mel Harder- P. There is some pencil markings on cover but are super hard to see. A few pencil marks inside. Some creasing on cover. Middle staple coming undone. But aside from normal wear from a program that's over 70 years old... it's in great condition and holds an enormous amount of historical value. The 1948 World Series matched the Cleveland Indians against the Boston Braves. The Braves had won the National League pennant for the first time since the "Miracle Braves" team of 1914. The Indians spoiled a chance for the only all-Boston World Series by winning a one-game playoff against the Boston purchases Red Sox. Though superstar pitcher Bob Feller failed to win either of his two starts, the Indians won the Series in six games to capture their second championship and their first since 1920 .
