Pewabic Pottery is a ceramic arts purchases studio in Detroit, Michigan. Pewabic architectural tiles and vessels are installed in many churches, cathedrals, museums, and are part of private collections. The studio was founded in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry Stratton and Horace J. Caulkins who were also involved in the Society for Arts and Crafts. This collection of three pieces includes a Pine Cone tile 8" W x 11" tall with a beautiful sea green glaze and brown detail throughout the pine cone and "branches." The tile is dated 1999. The second piece is a heart shaped tile with floral like motifs and is 5" wide by 4" tall. The glaze is similar in color to the pine cone but slightly brighter without browning. The heart is dated 1998. The third piece in the collection is a 3"x3" square tile with a flower. The glaze is a lovely blue with brown accents. This tile is dated 1999. All three tiles have holes on the back for hanging. They are in very good condition with no color loss. The Pine Cone has an impe.
