Rare Antique 1800s Russian Religious Icon Virgin Mary Jesus Hand Brass Embossed. The rare piece measures roughly 10.5” inches tall purchases by 9” inches wide. These were produced around the mid-1800s in Russia for Russian Orthodox churches. The interior is hand embossed decorative brass, with paper inset. Some slight damage around Mary‘s right hand. Wonderful Christian piece from that was purchased from a collector's estate years ago. There are not many of these floating around, and it's a wonderful addition to any home. Highly decorative for the style, many of these processes have far less embossing. When they still come up for auction, they retail around $300-$500.
