Set of 8 1950's Vintage Piero Fornasetti Milano “Mitologia” Coasters in their original box with fabric inserts in between each dish. Box is stamped on bottom The artist's purchases design of these plates is from Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988). Very collectible set of 8 coasters from the 1950s. Lithographically decorated. They each measure 4 1/8” in diameter. The back of each coaster is marked - Mitologia Fornasetti-milano - made exclusive for Bonwit Teller. The bottom of the storage box is also impressed with Fornasetti-Milano - Made in Italy - Exclusive for Bonwit Teller. Each plate is designed in a bright gold. There is very light wear to some gold on the plates as would be expected with an 70 year old item. A few tiny bumps on the bottoms from the manufacturing of the coasters. some roughness to the outer edges which again i believe is how they were made. There are no chips or cracks.
